In German: ”König Lichterloh, Märchen und Geschichten von Krieg und Frieden, Streit und Vergebung, Zorn und Zrtlichkeit” by Frau Wolle, Tyrolia Verlag.
In South Sudan, a peace project has taken place, where a group of people have gathered stories from three different areas which have a history of conflict with each other. The stories have themes of brotherhood, community, peace, in an attempt to promote peaceful co-existence in the area. The initiative was inspired by Inger Lise´s book ”THE NEW STORY Storytelling as a Pathway to Peace”. Radio programmes were broadcast and a book of stories published in English and Arabic: ”Folktales and Contemporary Short Stories from South Sudan”, www.southsudanesefolktales.org.

HEALING STORY TRAINING with Inger Lise Oelrich
Emerson College, England 2015-2016
Storytelling as a healing art is a way of unlocking the potential in each one of us for transformation and renewal, both in ourselves and in others. By journeying into the richness of picture language, story and myth – carriers of human wisdom through the ages – we can learn how to work with our creative imaginations as a vessel for change. Here empathy, tolerance and fresh ways of seeing can unfold, freeing up old stories, creating new futures. All healing is creative. Storytelling and appreciative listening are ways of growing a human culture of the heart.
Storywork builds bridges across cultures, generations, class and gender and is used widely today in a variety of contexts – at home with the family, in worklife and in the wider arena of social change. Come and join with others to learn practical, creative skills for community-building and working with people. No previous experience is necessary. Welcome!
